Prague, 20 May 2025 – Carriers paid 1.598 billion crowns for driving on motorways and toll sections of 1st category roads in April. This was up 3.6 % year-on-year, although this April had one less working day. CzechToll processed more than 102 million toll transactions in the fourth month of this year.
Since the start of the year, revenues from toll collection have reached 6.255 billion crowns. Compared to the same period in 2024, this is 12.6% more. More than 54% of the total tolls were paid by operators of vehicles with foreign license plates. In the long term, the most common vehicles are those registered in Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary.
“Approximately 89 percent of the total tolls paid since the beginning of this year has been paid for driving on motorways, while the remaining 11 percent of the total revenue has been paid by carriers for 1st category roads,” said Petr Chvátal, CzechToll CEO.
At the end of April, 897 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which over 714 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers. For the registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 661 thousand on-board units to carriers.
