Prague, February 23, 2026 – Toll collection from the operators of vehicles with a maximum permitted weight exceeding 3.5 tons exceeded a whopping 1.52 billion Czech crowns in January. Toll collection increased by 2.5 percent year-on-year. The CzechToll satellite toll collection system processed more than 88 million toll transactions, a year-on-year decrease of almost 3 percent.

As of January 1, 2026, toll collection started on the newly completed sections of the D1, D35 and D55 highway. The 11.7-kilometer section between the villages of Janov and Opatovec (the Svitavy exit) is so far the longest newly completed section. In January, more than 43 thousand trucks passed through this section in the Litomyšl direction and almost 49 thousand vehicles in the Svitavy and Olomouc direction.

Domestic carriers accounted for up to 46% of the total toll collected in January, and foreign carriers paid the remaining 54%. The toll collected for the use of highways accounted for 89% of total revenue.

At the end of January 2026, altogether 872 thousand vehicles with a maximum permitted weight exceeding 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system. CzechToll distributed 590 thousand on-board units to the carriers for their registered vehicles.
