In the first six months of the year toll revenues generated by lorries exceeded 9.5 billion crowns

Prague, 22 July 2025 – Toll collection from vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons reached 9.525 billion crowns in the first half of the year. Year-on-year growth for the entire period of the six months reached almost 12 percent. 89 percent of the toll charges collected came from the network of motorways, while the remaining 11 percent came from 1st category roads.

Toll collection in June alone reached CZK 1.623 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 11%. CzechToll processed 102 million toll transactions in June, which represents a year-on-year growth of 4%.

“54 percent of the tolls collected in the first half of the year were paid by foreign carriers.” Considering its geographical location, the Czech Republic is an important transit route and it is crucial for us to quickly adapt the electronic toll system to the developing transport infrastructure. “We successfully implemented the most recent changes to the toll network as of 1 June 2025,” said Petr Chvátal, CzechToll CEO.

Revenues from toll collection are an income of the State Transport Infrastructure Fund and help finance transport construction projects in the Czech Republic.

At the end of June, 907 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which over 723 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers. For the registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 666 thousand on-board units to carriers.
