The CzechToll satellite toll system celebrated its fourth birthday in December, collecting an average of 1.149 billion crowns in tolls per month

Prague, 18 December 2023 – The CzechToll satellite toll system celebrated its fourth birthday on December 1st. In the course of 48 months of its operation, since 1 December 2019, it has collected tolls in the amount of over 55 billion crowns. The average monthly toll collection from vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes therefore exceeds CZK 1.149 billion.

In November 2023 itself carriers paid 1.3 billion Czech crowns in tolls, which represented a year-on-year increase of 1.4 percent. The number of transactions fell by 0.25 percent year-on-year and only slightly exceeded the 100 million threshold. 

Since the beginning of the year, domestic and foreign carriers have paid CZK 13.9 billion for driving on toll roads. As of the end of November, this represents an increase of 0.54% compared to the same period in 2022. Of the total collection, the amount of over 12 billion crowns (89%) represented tolls for using motorways.

At the end of November 823 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which 646 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers. For these registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 643 thousand on-board units to carriers.
