PRESS RELEASE      24. 04. 2026

Toll collection for the first quarter of this year exceeded 4.9 billion Czech crowns.

Prague, April 24, 2026 – In March, carriers paid more than 1.81 billion crowns for the tolled sections of domestic roads and highways. Toll collection increased by 8.9% year-on-year in March. Carriers from abroad accounted for 54% of the total toll collected. For the entire first quarter, toll revenues exceeded 4.9 billion crowns (a 5.7% increase year-on-year).

CzechToll processed a total of 107 million toll transactions in March. The number increased by 4% compared to the same period last year, indicating that the growing toll collection is also affected by higher intensity of freight transport. The vast majority of revenue – 88% to be exact – is from highway tolls.

At the end of March, altogether 855 thousand vehicles with a maximum permitted weight exceeding 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system. Up to 560 thousand on-board units have been distributed to the carriers and their vehicles.
