Prague, 24 October 2025 – Carriers paid 1.696 billion crowns for driving on motorways and toll sections of 1st category roads in September. Year-on-year, toll collection increased by 15% in September, partly because September had one working day extra. It was the month with the highest toll collection this year, but also since the launch of electronic toll collection in 2007.
Toll collection exceeded CZK 14.359 billion in three quarters of the year (+12% year-on-year). Over 53% of this amount was paid by carriers from abroad. Since the start of the year, CzechToll has charged 89% of the tolls to carriers for driving on motorways, with the remaining 11% coming from toll sections of 1st category roads.
“The audited effectiveness of toll prescription, which is one of the key parameters of the efficiency of the entire toll system, reached 99.9 percent on motorways and 99.7 percent on 1st category roads from the start of the year to the end of August. It far exceeds the values required by the contract on the basis of which CzechToll administers the electronic toll system,” said Petr Chvátal, CzechToll CEO.
At the end of September, 919 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which over 732 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers. For the registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 670 thousand on-board units to carriers.
