Prague, 25 September 2026 – Total toll collected this August reached CZK 1.55 billion, with the year-on-year growth exceeding 5 per cent. The number of toll transactions processed by CzechToll within the toll collection agenda in August increased by 3.5 per cent year-on-year to more than 96 million. The share of foreign carriers in the collected August toll dropped by two percentage points to 52 per cent of the total collected amount. CzechToll recorded at least one toll payment transaction for a total of 313 thousand vehicles in August.
“The toll structure also increasingly reflects environmental cost of road transport today. In August alone, around CZK 370 million of the compulsory toll fell on the coverage of CO₂-related emission, air pollution and noise charges. This amount represents close to one fourth of the total toll assessment,” says Petr Chvátal, CzechToll CEO.
Nearly 88 per cent of the toll assessed in August of this year related to the motorway network. The 1st class road network consumed about CZK 190 million. The toll system data shows that the main part of the heavy cargo transport is concentrated on the performance motorways rather than on 1st class roads.
Since the beginning of this year, CzechToll has collected nearly CZK 13.3 billion for the Czech National Transport Infrastructure Fund. As of the end of August, the year-on-year toll collection increase reached 5.2 %.
As of the end of August, the electronic toll system recorded 815 thousand registered vehicles with the maximum permitted weight over 3.5 tons. As of the same date, CzechToll allocated 523 thousand board units to carriers, more than 140 thousand of which to carriers from the Czech Republic.
